Bass Pro Shops is fishing, hunting, camping and outdoor merchandise retailer. Founded in 1972 by John L. Morris, Bass Pro Shops first earned profit by selling homemade baits for fishing. The demand grew and a catalog was soon mailed out to sell more effectively. The shop continued to grow, incorporating more outdoor supplies and gear. Today, many locations are so large in scale that shops can range from 40,000 to 300,000 square feet. Flagship stores are called Outdoor World stores – one of the most famous ones being at the headquarters in Springfield, Missouri. These large spaces accommodate boats, fish tanks, taxidermy, and other supplies – even an archery range in many cases.
Whether you're looking for camping gear, fishing or hunting supplies, or versatile outdoor equipment, Bass Pro Shops has something for you. Despite the ups and downs of economy, Bass Pro Shops still thrives because of their unique shop design, high quality equipment, and competitive prices. They have over 30 locations in the US and each one is features a unique store setup to add to the shopping experience.
