Old Navy cemented it's place in the fashion world in the mid 2000's. The chic, unique fashion chain had humble beginnings, however, in 1994 in Northern California. The interiors resembled Gap stores. The popularity and affordability of their clothing and accessories caused the explosion of 57 stores in the first year alone.
After the the creator and CEO stumbled across an Old Navy Cafe in Paris, the look and feel of Old Navy had arrived. This light, energetic atmosphere brought in teens, young adults, and families into the store. By keeping their prices lower than their competitors (Gap, Hollister, and American Eagle), Old Navy has secured their place in American fashion. Old Navy is also known for re-energizing and renewing fashion fads to great success. Many Americans can recall seeing their unique commercials showing off Flip Flops and Performance fleece.
